Situation as of this morning. Oman-mediated talks with Iran have produced the first credible path toward a limited maritime route through the Strait of Hormuz after five months of conflict. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed discussions with Oman on a “third route” that respects sovereign rights on both sides. In a related development, President Trump canceled planned strikes for this week, citing progress and requests from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. He conditioned any deal on full reopening of the strait and an end to Iran’s nuclear threat.
